EAPCCO CTCoE Eastern Africa Trends and Situation Report 2020


This first Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) Regional Counter-Terrorism Centre of Excellence (CTCoE) Trend and Situation Report, developed by the EAPCCO CTCoE in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) covers a period from 2015 to 2020 and highlights changing developments related to the threat and manifestation of violent extremism and terrorism in the EAPCCO Member Countries.

The main objective of this report is to identify current trends related to terrorism and violent extremism in Eastern Africa. The Report aims to support decision- and policymaking in the EAPCCO Member Countries, and to aid EAPCCO police chiefs and other relevant law enforcement and criminal justice stakeholders to proactively respond to the growing threat to the safety and security in Eastern Africa.
