DR Congo: French soldiers tackling explosive devises in North Kivu


French troops that have been reported to be in the eastern parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo will not leave the country until the last date of March 2026.

According to Paris, the army mission in DRC mostly focuses on training members of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC). The French troops are therefore training members of FARDC in various skills. Four units of about 800 soldiers each, totaling to 32,000 personnel have so far been trained in combat tactics, to counter Improvised Explosive Devices (Counter-IED) measures as well as provision of first aid services.
