At least 15 people were killed when a bomb exploded on the evening of Friday, 6 October, in Kyangitsi village, in the Nyamaboko 2 grouping, Katoyi sector, in Masisi territory, North Kivu. Local sources report that most of the victims are women and children.
For the past two weeks, the region has seen hostilities between local armed groups. They competed for control of several villages in order to collect taxes and impose their laws.
