A bomb disposal team of Nepal Army defused an improvised explosive device (IED) planted in a parked vehicle belonging to Mayor of Damak Municipality Rom Nath Oli on Thursday.
Upon finding a suspicious material wrapped in a carton on the roof of his Scorpio vehicle on Wednesday evening when he was about to leave office for home, he informed the police.
Security personnel guarding the house of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Damak-6, where Mayor Rom Nath is staying, took the suspicious material, which the bomb disposal squad found to be an IED, to a safer place and neutralised it this morning.
