Armac receives $2 million from South Korea government for mine victims


The ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (Armac) in Phnom Penh has received approximately $2 million from the government of South Korea through the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF) for victims of mines or explosive remnants of war (ERW).

The “Enhance Victim Assistance Programme in the ASEAN Member States (AMS)” is a three-year programme aiming to strengthen assistance provided to victims through different support mechanisms. It will run until the end of 2023, benefitting communities-in-need, particularly victims of ERW.

The first objective is to promote the establishment of a victim assistance network as a regional platform for various stakeholders within Asean. This network will provide a platform for victim assistance stakeholders in the region to communicate and coordinate with each other.
