UK: Blackpool soup kitchen search continues as 'explosives found'

The search at a soup kitchen in Blackpool is continuing after explosives were found.

Officers were called to Amazing Graze Soup Kitchen on Bolton Street at 2.50pm yesterday afternoon (November 26) and also seized a suspected imitation shotgun.

The street has been sealed off and the building and neighbouring properties evacuated.

In a statement this morning Lancashire Constabulary said: “Around 2.50pm yesterday (Thursday, November 26) we attended an address after a report a man was behaving suspiciously.

“The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended and following further inspection found both the shotgun and package to be improvised explosive devices. The IEDs were dismantled and made safe.”
