Poppy was awarded the PDSA’s Order of Merit for her work. But the Spaniel is not fazed by glory and awards. She continues to work diligently sweeping the Palace of Westminster for the modern-day Guy Fawkes.
Meeting and greeting
It was during one of her routine explosive sweeps of the Commons that Poppy and her handler were met by Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle, an avid animal lover himself.
Poppy was given an enviable treat: to sit atop the Speaker’s Chair which has for centuries been inhabited by only a select few.
