Australia: Bomb squad, army called in after explosive find in Kew garden shed


The bomb squad, the dog squad and the army have been called in after forensic cleaners found explosives in a shed at a house in Kew.

Gelignite and a small mortar were among the items found in an overflowing and half-collapsed shed at the back of the three-bedroom home.

Police were called to the Parkhill Road property about 9am on Thursday. Explosive specialists from the ADF also arrived to check the explosives, as did a WorkSafe assessor.

The dog squad also surveyed the brick house.
