Members of the terror group Al-Qaeda have launched an attack on a Yemeni military headquarters in the country’s governorate of Albyan.
The attack targeted the headquarters of the Security Belt First Support and Reinforcement Brigade in the al-Mahfad district of Abyan Governorate. It was attributed to AQAP – a Sunni Islamist militant organisation also known as Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which seeks to overthrow the Yemeni Government and establish the Islamic Emirate of Yemen.
