The Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office announced an arrest in connection with the October 5 explosions in Leesburg. Trent Lasher of Leesburg was arrested January 29 and charged with two felony counts of possession of, Manufacturing, and use of firebombs or explosives.
The arrest is the result of the investigation involving the explosions reported around 4 a.m. in the Sparkleberry Terrace area. When first responders arrived, they found several manholes dislodged by what was reported as explosions. Further investigation determined that the blast was the result of an improvised explosive device or IED.
