The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) unanimously adopted a resolution in support of the agreement between the United States and the Taliban group as well as the U.S.-Afghan government joint declaration regarding the deal.
The U.S. envoy for Afghan peace Zalmay Khalilzad said the UN Security Council adopted the resolution on Tuesday.
“Today the @UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution in support of the agreement we signed last week with the Taliban and the US-Afghan government joint declaration,” he said in a Twitter post.
