UK: World War One artillery shell found by magnet fishers in Worcester destroyed in a controlled explosion


A World War One artillery bomb was disposed of via a controlled explosion on farmland in Worcestershire.

South Quay by the River Severn in Worcester was cordoned off and emergency services were called to the scene.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team safely carried out a controlled explosion of a 15lb first world war artillery shell today (Thursday).
