A man will stand trial next year accused of having items to make explosive devices. Shazad Khan faced the allegation as he appeared in the dock at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday.
The indictment claims the 51 year-old did make or have in his possession a quantity of gunpowder at a flat in the city’s Broomhill on February 15, 2024. Prosecutors state Khan gave rise to “reasonable suspicion” that he did not have the substance for a legal purpose. It is alleged he had the powder along with other items such as metal pipes, ball bearings, fireworks, blank ammunition, shotgun cartridges, alarm mines and commercial pyrotechnic grenades.
