UK: Man pleads guilty to bomb plot as part of terror attack at Army barracks in Windsor


A man has pleaded guilty to a string of charges, including admitting to gathering parts to make a homemade bomb and visiting British Army barracks in Windsor. Ilyas Akhtar, 20, from Slough, in Berkshire, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey.

Akhtar accessed Al Qaida material and bought knives and razor blades, as part of his terrorist preparations between July 1, 2025 and May 31, 2025. He researched online for information on weapons and poison, as well as literature about how to construct improvised explosive devices (IED).
