UK: Live ‘Second World War’ explosive found in brook near Loughborough


An explosive device has been discovered in a brook near Loughborough.

Police in Charnwood said officers had been called at around 5.45pm yesterday to assist with a report of a suspected World War Two explosive device in Woodhouse Eaves.

After inspecting the item, officers set up a wide cordon and the ‘bomb squad’ was called in.

A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: “A report was received of what was believed to be an explosive device had been found in a brook in Woodhouse Eaves.
