UK: Bomb found under a Cambridgeshire road blown up by armed forces


Police officers and a bomb disposal team have safely detonated an old First World War era bomb over the bank holiday weekend.

The explosive was discovered beneath a road bridge on the A1101 at Tydd Gote at 10am on Sunday morning (May 24).

The bomb was first believed to be from the Second World War, and police officers cordoned off the scene until the explosive ordnance disposal team (EOD) from the armed forces arrived. The A1101 was also closed for a short time.
