A bomb was discovered on Hornsea’s coastline on Wednesday.
The bomb, 18lb or just over eight kilograms in size, was in the tidal zone near Hornsea. Army bomb disposal experts were called in and safely detonated the device in the evening.
A safety cordon was put in place at the scene on Wednesday. A Humberside Police Facebook post said: “#Hornsea An 18lb bomb is not something we get to deal with every day. SC 6016 got to manage the cordon this evening & witness the work of the bomb disposal experts @11_EOD_Regiment first hand. S/Sgt 6096 stayed safely at the top of the cliff!! #DoSomethingSpecial2022.”
