“A terrorist attack was carried out against the Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI) Ankara Kahramankazan facilities,” Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, we have martyrs and wounded people after the attack.” The minister did not provide specific casualty figures but promised to keep the public informed about developments, urging reliance on official sources for information. Initial images shown by private NTV television channel showed a large cloud of smoke in front of the site’s entrance some 40 kilometers outside the capital, saying the blast took place at around 4 pm (1300 GMT).
