Transnistria Rocked by Explosions Hours Apart


Explosions damaged two radio towers in Moldova’s separatist region Transnistria, government officials said, a day after several blasts hit the state’s security ministry offices.

Two explosions were heard in the village of Maiac, which resulted in the damage of two radio towers that broadcast Russian radio, Transnistria’s Interior Ministry said in a statement. Emergency services were sent to the scene, but there were no casualties, the ministry added.

The blasts were the latest of several to hit Transnistria in the past 24 hours. A series of explosions rocked the building of the Ministry of State Security on Monday in the state’s capital Tiraspol.
