At least one child died and 11 others were injured after an IED explosion in Dayniile district of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, the latest in a series of terrorist attacks.
The remote-controlled landmine blast targeted the car of the deputy Mogadishu mayor Ali Yare. The official was not in the vehicle at the time of the attack which killed one of his bodyguards.
The wounded include family members who were caught in the explosion while driving their own car in the area, according to an eyewitness, who spoke to Keydmedia English by phone.
