Philippines: Citizens help unearth IEDs


Concerned citizens tipped off the military to unearth improvised explosive devices in different sites in Pantukan.

The latest was on August 20 at Sitio Lusang, Barangay Napnapan, where soldiers of the 28th Infantry Battalion unburied a five-kilo IED that was placed in a nylon sack.

According to the report, the concerned citizen saw a person, who is allegedly a member of the mass base movement of the New People’s Army, buried the IED.
