Pakistan: Two security officers injured as suicide attack bid foiled in Bannu


A suicide attack bid targeting a security forces’ vehicle was foiled on Tuesday in Janikhel Malikhel area of Bannu. However, two security personnel sustained injuries in the incident.

According to local sources, a suicide attacker travelling in a rickshaw attempted to target a security forces’ vehicle near a school. Security personnel responded promptly and neutralised the attacker before he could reach his target, averting a major loss of life.

Sources said two security personnel were injured in the attack and were immediately shifted to CMH Bannu for medical treatment. The injured personnel were identified as sepoys Zeeshan and Khairuddin.
