Police are investigating what they determined to be an “imitated explosive device” found under a bridge in New Hamburg on Sunday. Members of the public discovered the suspicious device near a pathway under the Nith River Bridge near Highway 7/8 at around 1:30 p.m.
A special response unit with the Waterloo Regional Police Service safely removed the device, determining it was meant to cause concern only.
