Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) and the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) have signed cooperation to clear land mines in Kep and make it the first mine-free province in Cambodia.
Khmer Times writes that the cooperation agreement was signed on 29 November by President of Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) Cambodia, Randall Andersonthe, and Director General of CMAC, Heng Ratana at the CMAC Headquarters in Phnom Penh.
The Cambodian province of Kep currently has eight minefields which measure a total of 90 hectares and the project of clearing the mines is estimated to take four months.
