Nigeria: IED explodes under military vehicle during patrol in Imo


An improvised explosive device, IED, has reportedly detonated under a military vehicle during a routine patrol along the Ihite Ukwa–Health Centre axis in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.

The incident occurred at about 6:50 a.m. on September 4, 2026, when troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade stepped on the device while conducting a patrol. The explosion damaged the front-right fender of the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle. It was, however, gathered that no casualty was recorded in the incident.
