New York: Horseheads Man Pleads Guilty in Explosives Investigation


The Horseheads man arrested in November after setting off an explosive device in Chemung County and later caused his entire neighborhood to be evacuated has pleaded guilty. According to Chemung County District Attorney Weeden Wetmore,

Michael Hilliard, 43, pleaded guilty in county court to two counts of third degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and one county of first degree Reckless Endangerment. Hilliard attempted to detonate an improvised explosive device on November 3rd, and later successfully detonated one on November 5th on Merka Road in the town of Veteran.
