MINUSCA: 3 Bangladeshi peacekeepers killed in IED blast in Central African Republic Ouham-Pendé prefecture


Three peacekeepers from the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), of the Bangladeshi battalion, lost their lives on the night of Monday, October 3, 2022, following the explosion of an explosive device near the village of KAITA, about 3 km from KOUI, in Ouham-Pendé prefecture.

A patrol of the Bangladeshi battalion was carrying out a civilian protection mission as part of its mandate when one of its vehicles struck an explosive device. The explosion caused several injuries who were evacuated to BOUAR for treatment at the MINUSCA hospital. Unfortunately, three peacekeepers succumbed to their injuries.
