A Melbourne teenager allegedly purchased explosives and planned to carry out a school shooting and a university bombing, a court has heard. The 19-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is facing explosives charges after being arrested by Victoria Police, who received a tip-off from the FBI earlier this year.
The Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court was told police carried out four searches of the teenager’s family home this year, finding 500 bullets, a taser, and chemicals that officers believe could have been used to create explosives.
