India: Man killed, wife injured in IED explosion in West Singhbhum


An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that was planted in a forest by CPI(Maoist) in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district exploded killing a man and injuring his wife, a senior police officer said on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Kande Laguri, a resident of Luiya village, who along with his wife had on Wednesday gone to the forest to collect kendu leaves when the IED exploded, Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said.
