India: In a crackdown on ISIS, central agency conducts searches in numerous locations in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra


An official claimed on Sunday that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) searched four places in Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, and one location in Pune, Maharashtra, as part of an inquiry to uncover a plot by the Islamic State-Khorasan Province (ISKP) to increase its operations in India. The homes of suspects Talha Khan in Pune and Akram Khan in Seoni were also searched by NIA teams.

The Delhi Police’s Special Cell opened the investigation after arresting a Kashmiri couple from Okhla in Delhi, Jahanzaib Sami Wani and his wife Hina Bashir Beigh. It was discovered that the pair was connected to the ISKP.
