Security forces uncovered and safely defused an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing 8.467-kilogram planted along a roadside at Wangoo Lamkhai Kaibung under Wangoo police station in Kakching district today.
According to reliable sources, a joint team of Kakching district commandos and the 46th Assam Rifles discovered the IED during routine foot patrols on the road connecting Wangoo to Wangjing Khunou. Swift action followed, with security forces cordoning off the area to prevent civilian access and avert potential incidents. Traffic was rerouted to alternate paths to ensure public safety.
