India: 3 officials killed in PPIED blast in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum

Three jawans of the Jharkhand Jaguar of State Police were reportedly killed and two others were critically injured after a pressure [plate] Improvised explosive device (PPIED) blast took place in the forest area of Hoyahatu village in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand, Thursday morning.

One jawan of 197 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also sustained minor injuries in the IED blast that took place around 8:45 am on Thursday, an official said.

The attack was allegedly carried out by Naxals in the Jharjhara area. “After the blast, a massive search operation has been launched,” the Jharkhand Police was quoted by news agency ANI as saying Thursday morning.
