An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and three live hand grenades were recovered from a vacant lot adjoining a private university on the Ambala-Chandigarh highway on Sunday.
The explosives were spotted by a few migrant workers in the vicinity, who immediately reported the matter to the police. Ambala’s Superintendent of Police Jashandeep Singh along with police force immediately rushed to the site.
A bomb disposal squad was called in and the three hand grenades were safely defused.
