An improvised explosive device was thrown at a house in East Belfast late on Friday, it has emerged.
The device was packed with nails and thrown along with a number of fireworks at the property in the Bloomfield Road area, police have said.
Detective Sergeant Rory McPhillips revealed: “When officers arrived at the scene, we discovered that it was in fact a crudely-made, improvised explosive device (IED), packed with nails. It had been thrown at the house along with a number of fireworks.
