Greece: Woman dies in Thessaloniki explosion


A 38-year-old woman who was seriously injured in an early-morning explosion in central Thessaloniki has died from her injuries.

The blast occurred in a parking lot next to a bank branch, at the intersection of Platonos and Agios Dimitriou streets, at around 5 a.m. The woman was rushed to Ippokrateio Hospital but ultimately succumbed to her wounds. Speaking to SKAI, police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidou stated that investigators are working to determine whether the victim was a passerby or somehow connected to the incident. She noted that the woman was known to the police, including for her involvement in robberies.
