The incident occurred outside an event venue located along the Athens–Souniou road, where an improvised explosive device (IED) had been placed on a bench by unknown individuals, according to the Hellenic Police (ELAS).
The explosion caused considerable damage to the venue’s fencing and shattered the windows of two nearby shops. Authorities are investigating the incident, but no injuries have been reported so far. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and police are continuing their search for the perpetrators.
