Germany: 50 kg World War II bomb defused in Berlin


A World War II bomb found in Berlin-Moabit, aduring construction work was defused on Monday. After the controlled detonation of the World War II bomb, the authorities have lifted the barrier circle around the site. The police announced on Monday on Twitter. This would allow residents to return to their home and traffic could start again, said a police spokeswoman.

At 3:08 p.m., the unexploded ordnance was ignited in a controlled manner, said a police spokeswoman on Monday. The 50-kilogram bomb had to be defused at the site because the detonators were damaged.
