Explosive Ordnance Disposal team members performed a controlled live detonation during which they explosively opened and exploited ordnance during Exercise Global Dragon 2019 May 27, 2019, at the Guardian Centers of Georgia, Perry, Georgia.
Controlled live detonations help Airmen prepare for scenarios that they may encounter while providing support to their local communities and while deployed.
During Exercise Global Dragon 2019, Airmen are presented with opportunities to train in scenarios that wouldn’t be possible at their home stations.
“If we were doing it at my home station in Houston, if you start having explosives go off, people really start panicking,” said Senior Airman Bentley Davis, 147th Attack Wing EOD technician. “Coming out here and getting to do this gives us real world training that we don’t normally get.”
