The European Union has allocated an additional EUR 4 million to continue delivering much needed humanitarian assistance in eastern Ukraine at the onset of winter. “The civilian population in eastern Ukraine continues to suffer following four years of conflict. The European Union continues to support all those in need, wherever they are.
This is our humanitarian and moral duty. The new funding will allow us to provide assistance in the non-government controlled areas where the humanitarian situation remains very difficult,” explained Christos Stylianides, Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, according to a press release by the European Commission.
