Danger warning for boats as suspected wartime mine dredged up by fisherman

A safety warning has been issued after a suspected wartime mine was dredged up by fisherman close to the Exe estuary.

Vessels have been told to stay away from an area of water off Straight Point due to the possible danger.

UK Coastguard is liaising with the Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team and the Exeter Port Authority to deal with the device.
