Colorado Springs: Suspected explosive device parts found after loud boom reported around downtown


A suspected explosive device was found Saturday morning after a loud boom was heard around the downtown area of Colorado Springs the previous night.

Police confirmed they had gotten several reports of the noise around the downtown and surrounding areas, but they said they were still investigating the source. They later said they were investigating the call from the area of Costilla and El Paso streets. As of just before 9 a.m., Police said when they arrived, they found what appeared to be parts from an explosive device. They said the CSPD Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team is investigating the incident.
