The Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) is donating $2 million for demining to help Cambodia achieve its mine-free goal by 2025.
A press statement issued after the CRC Annual Meeting on Monday said the $2 million pledge will go to the Samdech Techo plan for mine action under the theme of Providing Safe Ground, Creating Smiles.
The statement said the CRC will continue to educate people about the dangers of landmines and explosive remnants of war. It said its awareness campaign has reached 17,779 people, including 6,759 children.
