Cambodia: UN-ESCAP help sought to expand Ottawa signatories


Ly Thuch, the First Vice- President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA), has requested UN-ESCAP to assist in encouraging Asia-Pacific nations that have not yet ratified the Ottawa Treaty to do so while Cambodia is hosting and chairing the Ottawa Convention’s Fifth Review Meeting this year.

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP) Executive Secretary Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana met Thuch at the CMAA office on Monday to discuss work.
