The request was made during the meeting between Senior Minister Ly Thuch, the first vice-president of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) and Juan Carlos Ruan, director of the ISU-APMBC, held at the CMAA office in Phnom Penh yesterday.
It also comes at an appropriate time when the Kingdom prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary of humanitarian demining in Cambodia since 1992.
The ISU-APMBC delegation is on a five-day mission here from Sunday to Thursday to monitor the implementation of demining work in accordance with the plan approved for the second postponement of Cambodia in Oslo, Norway and to support the preparation of demining plans to achieve Article 5 of the Ottawa Treaty.
