Cambodia: 11 nations attend NPMEC demining training course


The National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces, Mines and Explosive Remnants of War Clearance (NPMEC) has launched the ASEAN and Regional Mine Clearance and Minefield Technical Training for UN peacekeeping missions which saw the participation of 11 countries.

General Sem Sovanny, director-general of the National Peacekeeping Centre, said yesterday that the training was the fifth session for the regional demining and regional minefield technical training course for the organisation’s UN peacekeeping mission.

He added that the training was supported by France with cooperation from Australia, after Cambodia had to delay the course from 2020-2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
