Local sources in Laghman province say that Sharif Pacha, the district governor of Dolat Shah district of the province, was killed on Wednesday afternoon, following an explosion.
Asadullah Dawlatzai, the spokesman for the Laghman governor, said the blast was caused by a roadside mine, killing two security personnel and wounding two others.
According to Dolatozi, the incident took place after the governor’s vehicle collided with a roadside mine in the Anda-Kori area of the district.
The state police bomb squad and fire investigators secured dozens of completed destructive devices and explosive components, according to the statement. The bomb squad transported and safely countercharged the devices and explosive powders in a secure location.
