A blast targeted a vehicle in the city of Faizabad, Badakhshan province, on Monday morning, killing head of the provincial security department, Abdulhaq Abu Omar, the ministry of interior confirmed.
The blast happened nearby the compound of the security department, said Abdul Nafay Takor, a spokesman for the interior ministry said.
Two other forces of the Islamic Emirate were wounded in the explosion.
