Ukraine: 31 German extremists have entered the country since the beginning of the war

Since the beginning of the war, the security authorities have registered 31 trips of “persons with extremist connections” from Germany to Ukraine, according to a report. According to the findings of the Federal Police, the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, eight of them wanted to take part in combat operations, with two of them having “concrete indications that they have put this plan into practice,” the news magazine Der Spiegel reported in its new issue on Friday.Six people were therefore “probably” still in Ukraine. For five others, the trip had failed or could have been stopped – for example, by an “official exit ban” with securing the passport.

Investigators: Extremists should not get hold of weapons of war
Anyone who nevertheless travels can make themselves liable to prosecution. This is to prevent extremists from receiving “intensive weapons training”, gaining war experience or even obtaining weapons of war. In total, “travel intentions” of 52 people had become known. According to the report, the authorities did not provide further details on them.
