Police have activated a 400m cordon around a building site in Southway after a huge 250kg WW2 bomb was found yesterday (Wednesday, April 29).
Cordons are in place in the vicinity of Aldi in Southway, with several roads closed and over 1,200 homes evacuated. Devon and Cornwall Police urged people to stay away, reporting: “Police are in the area of Flamborough Road, Southway, in Plymouth, following a report that a suspected ordnance was located at a building site at 2.30pm this afternoon. “The Royal Navy Explosives Ordnance Disposal Team are in attendance and assessing the ordnance.”
