Humberside Police said a cordon was in place in Foresters Way, Bridlington with an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team in the area.
A force spokesperson said: “The device was examined by the EOD team who successfully detonated the device on the beach and confirmed it caused no further risk or danger to the public.”
